Germany Golden Visa 2024: Key Benefits

Looking to obtain German residency and/or citizenship by investment in 2024? The German Golden Visa Programme enables non-EU nationals to obtain residency by means of purchasing an eligible off-plan property, and making a regionally focussed entrepreneurial fund investment for a period of 5 years. Find out more about this pathway to German residency below, or contact us now for more information.

About the program

Germany has not formally packaged and promoted their Golden Visa programme as such, but that changed as of late 2019. Also referred to as German Economic Residency, this programme offers investors a proven and predictable pathway to obtaining EU residency in one of Europe’s top-tier nations.

As an EU Plan B destination, Germany ticks all the boxes. Co-create by the German authorities and our associate partners, the programme offers unrivalled value in one of the most sought after countries – without the need for language proficiency or to settle in-country if you don’t want to.

Investment requirements

In order to meet the German government’s requirements for obtaining residency, non-EU investors are required to purchase a government approved property to the value of €250,00 off-plan. In addition, an investment of €100,000 into a regional entrepreneurial development fund is required.

The property must be situated in a specific regional hub in Northern Germany, and the entrepreneurial investment must be maintained for a period of 5 years. Current development projects include a number of residential developments, as well as a Founders’ Technology Campus.

General eligibility requirements

In order to be eligible to apply for German investment residency, applicants must be older than 18 years old. A clean criminal record is non-negotiable, and residency is granted subject to the applicant having adequate private heath insurance in place. Given that the property being purchased is off-plan, applicants are expected to rent a property in Germany until their property is completed for domiciling purposes.

Our expert consultants will guide you through every step of the application process, and can help you identify the best off-plan property investment opportunity in line with your requirements. The application process can be completed in 3 months, making this one of the fastest EU golden visa programmes, in addition to one of the most affordable ones.
